December 12: Can You Identify Me? A Live Exhibit
On Saturday, December 12, from 12-6 p.m. Museum guests will be able to watch forensic artist Jane Billingham demonstrate her work creating images of unidentified persons that are used by law enforcement worldwide. During the live exhibit, Billingham will sketch 2-3 examples of her work, each with links to the Mob or human trafficking. A display will be available explaining the circumstances behind each case. Also as part of the live exhibit, team members with Can You Identify Me will provide information about their organization as well as share stories and insider information on the importance of forensic artistry.
Can You Identify Me is a nonprofit dedicated to finding the names of the Americans who die each year without being identified by offering free forensic services to law enforcement agencies who otherwise might not be able to afford them. Jane Billingham is a freelance forensic artist and serves as forensic art program manager for Can You Identify Me. She has studied under Karen T Taylor, Betty Pat Gatliff, and Natalie Murry since 2011 and completed both basic and master classes in 3D forensic sculpture, 2D forensic art, and most recently, digital postmortem. Team members with Can You Identify Me include retired and active law enforcement officers, coroners, UNLV criminal justice graduates and students.
